Last week, sports journalist Rob Parker, a contributor to FS1’s Skip and Shannon: Undisputed, and former member of ESPN’S First Take, claimed to be was so sure the New England Patriots couldn’t beat Kansas City that he said he’d move to Mexico if they ended up making it to yet another Super Bowl.
His exact words were that the Patriots’ “reign of terror would be over.”
Sadly (for most of us), their reign continues on as they were gifted a chance to win on Sunday and took full advantage to advance to Super Bowl LII.
Following their victory, the Patriots Twitter account showed that they hadn’t forgotten what Parker said, writing, “Sorry to reign on your celebration.”
So, rather than admit defeat, Parker then proceeded to double down on his Patriots hate on his Fox Sports Radio show The Odd Couple with Chris Broussard & Rob Parker.
When a caller phoned in and made the grave mistake of bringing up Spygate, that was all Parker needed to get on one hell of a conspiracy roll.
“You know what, Kevin? I’m glad you brought it up, because if anybody else, if it’s Barry Bonds or Clemens, already cheated, nobody ever uses … nobody ever brings it up about Brady and he ain’t no greatest player and that stuff should count against him as well,” Parker ranted. “I told you, one day someone’s gonna write a big book about all the shenanigans that went on with the Patriots and Tom Brady’ll wind up being Lance Armstrong without the bicycle. Watch!”
One can only hope.
