There is very little that has gone right for the San Antonio Spurs this season.

They’ve already had to release a former 1st round pick after just one season because of alleged misconduct.

They currently hold the Western Conference’s 2nd worst record and the 4th worst overall in the NBA. Their 13-29 record has them firmly in the race for a top 5 pick, but they’ll unfortunately need to get even worse in the second half of the season if they’re going to win the race for the top pick to land Victor Wembanyama.

They currently hold the NBA’s 3rd worst offensive rating, its worst defensive rating, and its worst NET rating.

Basically, the Spurs are a really awful basketball team right now.

Despite that, it looks like they are set to make some positive NBA history this week.

The Spurs host the Golden State Warriors on Friday for a matchup that will take place at the Alamodome. That game has sold 63,592 tickets, which would break the league record for single-game attendance record that has been held by a Hawks-Bulls game at the Georgia Dome since 1998.

This game will actually shatter the previous record by more than 1000 tickets as the previous record holder only had 62,046 fans in attendance.

The game is being played at the Alamodome as part of the Spurs’ 50th anniversary celebration. The Spurs previously played at the stadium from 1993 to 2002.

Luckily Spurs fans will get to see the Warriors playing at full strength after Steph Curry returned to their lineup on Tuesday.

This game will be a nice bright spot for the San Antonio Spurs in a season that hasn’t had many.
