Baseball seems to be growing in popularity again, as the MLB’s new rules have increased interest in the sport.

However, the Savannah Bananas may still be the most exciting team right now, as this minor league team is basically the Harlem Globetrotters of baseball.

You never know what to expect when it comes to a Bananas game, as they keep everyone guessing in every contest.

But the organization went viral on Tuesday night after a new rule ended the contest.

It was at the top of the ninth and the Savannah Bananas needed one more out to end the game. The batter hit a pop fly in the stands in foul territory.

Normally, this wouldn’t mean anything and the batter would receive another pitch. But the Savannah Bananas play by their own rules.

The foul ball was caught by a fan, which oddly enough, counts as an out. After the lucky fan caught the ball, the Bananas swarmed him and brought him onto the field to celebrate the win as if he’s a part of the team.

If this bizarre rule doesn’t make you want to attend a Savannah Bananas game, I don’t know what will.

I mean, the kid got to celebrate with the team just because he caught the foul ball. You don’t see that anywhere else in sports.

The Bananas are for the people and always will be. It’s just cool to see people have so much fun at a minor league-level game.

There’s a reason why there’s a waitlist for tickets to watch them play, as owner Jesse Cole as created an amazing product.
