Cooper Kupp’s second touchdown against the Buccaneers on Sunday was absolutely nasty. He put a ridiculous move on the defensive back and, as it would turn out, came up with the route himself.

With 7:23 remaining in the third quarter, Kupp capped a seven-play, 75-yard drive by finding pay dirt. He lined up on the right side of the formation and broke outside like he was running an out route.

He then planted his foot and turned back toward the backfield as if he was going to pivot back to the inside. The defensive back broke on the ball and tried to jump the route.

Meanwhile, Kupp cut back to the outside and scored untouched on an easy catch and short run. Matthew Stafford put the ball exactly where it needed to be and the timing was perfect.

The entire play was beautifully executed, but Kupp’s route was just plain sick.

If you have never seen this route run before, you are not alone, because it was literally one of a kind. Sean McVay was asked about the touchdown and explained that Kupp invented the route himself, calling it the “ocho” route.

“That’s the ‘Ocho’ route — that’s an Omaha-China-Out,” he said. “It takes timing. It takes a great feel. That’s a route that Cooper kind of invented himself, so you’ve got to give him the credit.”

It’s soooooooo smooth.

Kupp’s Ocho route gained a lot of attention. Peter Schrager (who is the absolute man) and Golden broke down the play for three whole minutes on Good Morning Football.

Known as one of the best route-runners in football, Kupp is always crisp. However, after scoring on a route that he invented, he might deserve the crown. Simply sensational stuff.
