Marvin Harrison Jr is rumored to be seeing some unbelievable NIL offers as Ohio State looks to keep the star pass catcher in Columbus for one more season. Those offers have been said to fall in the range of $20 million.

Shannon Terry, the founder and CEO of On3 Sports, has shut that narrative down, however. The recruiting guru denied that speculation surrounding the Heisman trophy candidate on social media.

Rumors began to circulate late last week following Harrison’s 1,200-yard junior season. Some initially stated that he’d been offered about the compensation package of a typical high-round NFL draft pick.

But as time has passed, that supposed NIL number has grown larger.

That payout would certainly be enough to sway the wide receiver into sticking around college football for one more season, although he’s already considering a return to Ohio State for another chance at beating Michigan.

“Still undecided,” he responded when asked about his NFL future. “You guys know coming into this year, I wanted to beat the team up north and win a Big Ten championship and obviously I did not do that this year, so I think there’s great motive to come back if that’s what I decide to do.”

An NIL deal would give Harrison a bit more motivation to come back to Columbus, but On3 Sports CEO Shannon Terry is warning college football fans.

He states that the rumors of that massive $20M NIL deal are the farthest thing from true.

“The noise regarding Marvin Harrison being offered/talked about ~$20 M in NIL deals is one of the most inaccurate rumors in the history of College Sports,” Terry posted to his X timeline on Monday.

He attached his site’s NIL calculator for the Ohio State wideout, which estimates his value at around $1.3M annually – a far cry from $20M!

Terry has his hand on the pulse of everything recruiting, so his opinion certainly holds more weight than most.

NIL speculation has run wild given the overwhelming transfer portal activity seen this offseason. Some of the nation’s most coveted players are reportedly seeing seven-figure offers from potential suitors. Harrison definitely fits this mold.

Still, these particular rumors might be too good to be true.
