Shedeur Sanders Believes He’s A Combination Of Two Legendary Quarterbacks

If there’s one thing that Colorado Buffaloes quarterback  Shedeur Sanders doesn’t lack, it’s confidence.

The junior signal caller has impressed in his first season at the FBS level, throwing for 2,882 yards, 24 touchdowns and just three interceptions through nine games.

And he’s done so behind perhaps one of country’s worst offensive lines.

How does it do?

According to Sanders, it’s simple. He’s a combination of a legendary NFL quarterbacks Tom Brady and Michael Vick.

“Well, I’ll say it’s a mixture because I’m able to stay in the pocket and deliver the ball. I can play like Brady, but I’m also able to extend plays and if it’s not there, take it like Vick,” Sanders said in a recent interview with Complex. So it just depends, it’s funny whenever situations in the game occur, they’re like ‘hey, you gotta be Vick tonight. You gotta be Mike Vick tonight.’ So then that’s when we bring our legs involved.

But I say it’s a mixture of a lot of great quarterbacks that all just have a different skill set. So that’s why I feel like I’m special in what I bring to the table. I wanna stay in the pocket, I wanna throw it like Tom, but sometimes those opportunities ain’t there.”

That’s quite the claim.

Sanders, of course, grew up training with Brady. So it’s understandable to see where he could’ve taken elements of a seven-time Super Bowl winner’s game.

But Vick’s running ability didn’t just win games, it changed the NFL for good.

If Sanders is, in fact, a combination of those two quarters, he may well be the best quarterback to have ever played the game.

We may not have to wait long to find out, either.

Sanders is projected by many to be a first-round pick in the 2024 NFL Draft should he choose to enter.
