Sports Illustrated announced on Tuesday that popular LSU gymnast Olivia Dunne will return for their 2024 swimsuit issue as an official “rookie.”

“She’s back at it again! We are absolutely flipping out that Livvy Dunne is officially a ROOKIE for the 2024 SI Swimsuit 60th Anniversary Issue!” SI Swimsuit wrote on Instagram.

“‘Coming back for Year 2, I mean, last year I said it was a dream come true, and nothing’s changed,” @livvydunne says. “It’s still a dream come true. I can’t believe I can call myself a rookie. It feels unreal.’

“In October, Livvy traveled to the beautiful Porto and the North of Portugal (@visitportoandnorth) for her rookie shoot where we not only captured some absolutely incredible images, but also chatted with her about her work on The Livvy Fund—an organization that works to connect female college athletes at LSU with top brands to secure name, image and likeness (NIL) endorsement deals,” the statement continued.

“We are so happy to welcome back and feature such an inspirational female athlete! Be sure to check out the link in our bio to get a peek at some of Livvy’s 2024 images.”

“Such an honor!” Livvy Dunne wrote in the comments.

Fellow Sports Illustrated swimsuit models Christen Harper, Brooks Nader and Katie Austin, as well as Dunne’s LSU gymnastics teammate Elena Arenas were among the thousands of people who expressed their joy at the announcement.

If there are betting odds, Dunne would certainly be the front-runner for the 2024 Sports Illustrated swimsuit issue rookie of the year.

Previous Swimsuit rookies of the year include Chrissy Teigen, Kate Upton, Nina Agdal, Kate Bock, and Sara Sampaio.

The announcement conveniently comes in the immediate aftermath of Sports Illustrated being accused of publishing multiple articles written AI and being credited to fake authors – something the company denied.
