Over the weekend, some of the best athletes—both former and current— in the world flocked to Lake Tahoe to show off their golf skills at the American Century Championship, an annual golf tournament where celebrities get a chance to show their skills (or lack thereof) on the links. This included Charles Barkley, who appeared to have somehow managed to fix his infamously terrible golf swing.
Despite his improved mechanics, Barkley managed to finish dead last in the tournament, with highly-lauded football commentator Tony Romo ending Mark Mulder’s three-year winning streak by claiming the top spot and taking home a trophy he can put in the place he’d reserved for the Lombardi that never was.
The majority of athletes who took part in the competition had already retired from their respective sports but there was one particularly notable exception: Steph Curry, who decided to devote a few days of the NBA offseason to showcase his skills on the golf course. He was joined by his father Dell and the two decided to raise the basically nonexistent stakes with a bet that ensured one of them would be jumping into Lake Tahoe on Sunday.
In addition to being very good at basketball, the younger Curry is apparently a pretty good golfer. He made the bet with Dell and spotted him 20 points in the tournament’s unique scoring system but “only” managed to edge him out by 18 by the time they’d both signed their scorecards at the end of the final round.
As a result, Steph was forced to pull a Hue Jackson and take a dip into the lake

I’ll take jumping into Lake Tahoe in July over jumping into Lake Erie at any point in my life every single day of the week.
