The Seattle Seahawks handed the Kansas City Chiefs their first loss of the season Sunday night. Then they made Taylor Swift fans even angrier than Chiefs fans with a single social media post.
Seattle defeated Kansas City 20-3, keeping Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce and the Chiefs’ high-powered offense out of the end zone all night. Mahomes finished with just 165 passing yards and an interception.
After the game, the Seattle Seahawks social media team decided to have some fun at the Kansas City Chiefs’ expense, and it involved Taylor Swift.
Seattle Seahawks Troll Kansas City Chiefs With Taylor Swift Friendship Bracelets
Following the victory, Seattle, taking a page from the Philadelphia Eagles’ 2023 playbook, posted a photo on X of friendship bracelets spelling out “Seahawks Win.”
The caption? “End Game.”
For those unfamiliar with Taylor Swift’s music, “End Game” is a track from her 2017 album Reputation. Friendship bracelets were also a big part of the singer’s Eras Tour, with fans swapping them during concerts.
They also connect to Travis Kelce, who famously tried to give Taylor Swift a friendship bracelet with his phone number on it before they started dating.
Taylor Swift Fans Blast The Seahawks For Using T-Swizzle To Mock The Chiefs
Notoriously vindictive Taylor Swift fans quickly flooded the Seattle Seahawks post with replies accusing the Seahawks of dragging Travis Kelce’s wife into their rivalry with the Chiefs.
“Seattle on the hatewatch for the rest of the season now. LEAVE TAYLOR OUT OF THIS,” one fan complained.
“Just like that lost all respect for them. Very poor taste,” another wrote.
Another upset fan demanded that Seattle fire its social media manager. Other fans predicted that Seattle would suffer Taylor Swift-related karma.
Of course, many other NFL fans, especially Seattle Seahawks fans, found it funny.
“Cold blooded,” read another comment. “Whoever is running this account needs a raise.”
“My wife and daughter do not think this is funny. But it’s outstanding,” another fan wrote. “I applaud you for putting your literal life at risk to give us all a sensible chuckle.”
Meanwhile, Travis Kelce, who finished the game with four catches for 44 yards, made history during the loss, He surpassed Tony Gonzalez for the combined regular-season and postseason receiving yards by a tight end in NFL history.
