The University of Tennessee social team viciously trolled South Carolina signal caller Spencer Rattler over his comments following Saturday’s game. The quarterback said that this was the Vols’ Super Bowl, leading to an epic UT response online.

The social media team put together a retro montage of Tennessee’s 41-20 win while subtly playing on the remarks in the caption.

The Vols smacked the Gamecocks in Neyland Stadium over the weekend, winning by three touchdowns in front of the home crowd. The win represented revenge after South Carolina’s 63-38 victory the year prior.

In that Top 10 upset, Rattler threw six touchdowns in a career night. The Vols weren’t allowing a repeat performance.

Tennessee locked down the SC offense, holding the passer to 169 yards through the air. The defense also forced a pick-six just before halftime to give UT complete control of the game.

After the on-field struggles, a frustrated Spencer Rattler spoke on the loss to Tennessee with the media.

“We just couldn’t find a rhythm, have to clean up a little bit,” the QB said. “Credit to them, they did a great job. It was like their Super Bowl tonight, so congrats.”

Tennessee has certainly had this game circled due to the surprising loss last season that cost the Vols a chance at a College Football Playoff appearance.

After the game, the social media team played into those Super Bowl comments with an epic video response.

“We’re going to Disney World!” the caption read, echoing what many Super Bowl winners say after winning the big game.

Fans were quick to comment.

“Media team remains undefeated,” one follower said.

“Rattler just got sacked again,” wrote another.

“It’s great being a Super Bowl champ!” this fan quipped.

With the win, Tennessee improved to 4-1 on the year. Spencer Rattler and South Carolina fell to 2-3.
