Not content to just be a college football analyst and reality TV show host Tim Tebow now says he wants to be a professional baseball player.
No, we’re not joking.
Tebow, who turn 29-years-old on Sunday, will be holding a workout later this month for MLB teams to show off his potential skills as an outfielder. He has been training for the past year and those that have seen him have been amazed at how well he’s picked the game back up.
The last time Tebow played baseball was in 2005 when he was an All-State baseball player in Florida, hitting .494 as a junior.
“Obviously we support Tim in his pursuit of a baseball career, as we have in all his ventures,” said Tebow’s football agent, Sexton, who is now working with CAA baseball agent, Brodie Van Wagenen.
“Tim’s athletic ability, his work ethic, his leadership and his competitiveness were evident in football and will show in baseball. Knowing Tim’s passion and desire, we won’t be surprised by anything he accomplishes.”
All 30 teams have been invited to his workout and Tebow has already notified ESPN of his intentions to pursue baseball while still broadcasting for the network.
No word yet on whether or not he will also be bringing “Tebowing” back should manage to hit a home run if he does actually make a baseball team.
