Being one of the best college football players in the country tends to come with its fair share of perks, but Tim Tebow made it very clear he had no interest in one potential upside plenty of people in his position would’ve been unable to resist during his time at the University of Florida.
Tebow was thrust into the national spotlight over the course of the 2007 campaign where he earned the Heisman Trophy and led a Gators squad that boasted Percy Harvin, Aaron Hernandez, and backup QB Cam Newton to a 9-4 record a year before Florida secured its second national championship in a three-year span.
While Tebow didn’t exactly shy away from the limelight, he was still a somewhat reserved guy who used it to call attention to causes he believed in. That includes his commitment to remaining a virgin until he was married due to the Christian beliefs he frequently championed on the field by praying on the gridiron and scrawling various Bible verses on his eye black.
Tebow presumably lost his virginity after he married former Miss Universe winner Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters in 2020, but it’s safe to say he dealt with plenty of temptation up to that point—including some that came courtesy of his own teammate.
According to The New York Post, former Gators linebacker Brandon Spikes shed some light on the virginity “tests” he subjected Tebow to during their time together in Florida in an episode of the upcoming four-part Netflix documentary chronicling the Urban Meyer Era, which essentially involved showing the QB random pictures of naked women:
Here’s what he had to say about his fairly strange approach:
“I just wanted to see if he was real. So I would like, you know, maybe have a picture, a nude picture on my phone or something and show it to him just to see how he would react.
“He was like, ‘Come on man! Like, you really get a man uncomfortable And I was like, ‘Oh, he’s serious.’”
Alllllrighty then.
