Tim Tebow: WWE Superstar? Yep, it almost happened.

At least according to current WWE president Nick Khan.

During his appearance on The Pat McAfee Show on Monday, Khan revealed that Tim Tebow once had a secret meeting with WWE executives including Vince McMahon and “Triple H” Paul Levesque about wrestling at, ironically, WrestleMania XXX.

“Paul [Triple H] had called me, unsolicited call, and this is when Tim Tebow had just gotten cut by the Patriots,” Tony Khan told McAfee, who himself has worked extensively with WWE.

“Paul called me and said, ‘Hey, I just want to introduce myself. My name’s Paul Levesque.’

“I said, ‘Oh, yeah, Triple H. I know who you are. I remember you as Terra Ryzing.’ His former wrestling name from WCW.

“I said, ‘I know who you are.’

“He said, ‘Oh, you know WWE?’

“I said, ‘Yeah, I know WWE. I grew up a fan. I was an usher at WrestleMania IX at Caesar’s Palace.’

“I said, ‘Hey, what’s going on?’

“He said, ‘What do you think of Tim Tebow against The Big Show?’ at whatever that WrestleMania was after the Patriots run,” Khan continued.

“I said, ‘What are you thinking?’

“He offered some financial terms. I called Tim at the time. ‘What do you think?’

“Tim and I had a then top secret meeting. Tim Tebow, myself, Vince McMahon, and Triple H in Anaheim, California about that.

“Ultimately, it didn’t happen.”

Pat McAfee’s reaction to that story pretty much summed it up.

Watch…

Instead of taking on The Big Show at WrestleMania, Tebow would go on to sign a one-year contract with the Philadelphia Eagles, but never did play a down in the regular season with them.

(The Big Show would end up finishing second in the 31-man Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal to Cesaro at the annual WWE pay-per-view.)

From 2016 to 2020, Tim Tebow would go on to play Minor League Baseball in the New York Mets organization.

And in 2021, Tebow was signed as a tight end by the Jacksonville Jaguars, whose head coach was his former college coach Urban Meyer. He ended up not playing in any regular season games for them either.

Oh, what could have been.
