The feel-good story of New York Giants quarterback Tommy DeVito hit its first speed bump over the weekend, both on the field and off the field.

On the field, the Giants got beat up by the Saints, ultimately losing by a score of 24-6, with DeVito completing 20 of 34 passes for 177 yards.

Off the field, the New Jersey native found himself in a bit of controversy as a local pizza shop called out his agent Sean Stellato for apparently raising the appearance fee for DeVito from $10K to $20K, which was ultimately too rich for the business’ blood.

While the pizza place wasn’t willing to shell out the dough for an hour with the Giants’ third-stringer, burrito and bowl chain Bubbakoo’s apparently did, as DeVito will be at their Livingston location today, Tuesday, December 19, from 2:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Livingston, of course, is DeVito’s hometown.

This weekend, DeVito and the New York Giants have the unfortunate task of having to go to Philadelphia to take on the Eagles, who are in a must-win situation following three-straight losses.

The G-Men will then close out their 2023 season with a home game against the Los Angeles Rams on New Year’s Eve and against the Eagles on January 7.

Regardless of how the rest of the season plays out for the Giants, DeVito has certainly done enough to earn himself a spot on the roster for the start of training camp next summer, especially with Daniel Jones coming off of an injury.

While DeVito is from Livingston, he went to high school at Don Bosco Prep, which is located in Ramsey, New Jersey. DeVito then went on to play college football at Syracuse and the University of Illinois before being signed by the Giants as an undrafted free agent earlier this year.
