Fans Turn On Tommy DeVito After He Big Times Local Pizza Shop Ahead Of Planned Appearance

In the words of legendary scholar and poet Fat Joe: “yesterday’s price is not today’s price.”

Sadly, a small New Jersey pizza shop had to learn this the hard way.

Coniglio’s Pizzeria and Bakery in Morristown, New Jersey had advertised an appearance by New York Giants star quarterback Tommy DeVito on Tuesday. Now that appearance is no longer going to happen.

DeVito has become an overnight star in the New York-New Jersey not just for his play after taking over to Daniel Jones and Tyrod Taylor, but also for being the most aggressively Italian-American man on the planet.

But Tommy ain’t no dummy. And neither is his equally Italian agent Sean Stellato.

So they’re going to strike when the iron is hot.

According to Coniglio’s, the pizza shop initially agreed to pay the Giants quarterback $10,000 for the appearance. That’s no small chunk of change to show up, shake some hands, and maybe sample some mortadell.

But it wasn’t enough for our buddy Tommy Cutlets or Stellato.

Darren Rovell reports that the pizza shops owners “were told his fee increased from $10,000 to $20,000 after the Packers win and the family biz said they couldn’t afford it.”

DeVito then went out Sunday and went 20-of-34 for 177 yards and no touchdowns in a 24-6 loss to the New Orleans Saints.

So maybe the shop can get a discount?

Either way, fans weren’t exactly thrilled with the way DeVito handled the situation.

He trying to charge family ran pizzerias HOW much????,” @Sophia_Loren89 wrote.

Who this dude think he is? He better chill out. There’s a chance he’ll be working at that pizzeria in year or 2,” said @5on_it.

To that point, it’s probably best that Tommy cashes out as much as he can while he still can.

But it’s not exactly a good look for someone who’s supposed to be a man of the people.
