Everybody loves a good underdog story, especially in sports. This year in the NFL, that story is being written about Tommy DeVito of the New York Giants (and it includes “Snooki” of Jersey Shore fame).

With Daniel Jones, the sixth overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft, having just signed a four-year, $160 million extension with the Giants in March, it seemed extremely unlikely that an undrafted quarterback out of Syracuse would be replacing him as the team’s starter.

That, however, is exactly what happened when Tommy DeVito, who was was waived on August 29, 2023 and then re-signed to the practice squad, made his NFL debut in Week 8 of the season when Tyrod Taylor went down with an injury.

In Week 9, DeVito played again, this time coming in the game for an injured Jones.

Fast forward to this week and Tommy DeVito, AKA “Tommy Cutlets,” is now 3-2 as the Giants starting quarterback with 8 touchdowns passing and only 3 interceptions. (The Giants were just 2-7 before he became the starter.)

Much like many previous quarterbacks that came out of nowhere, DeVito, who still lives with his parents in New Jersey, has been capitalizing on his newfound fame.

Last month, fans piled into a sub shop to get their white tank tops signed by the Giants quarterback.

This week, Tommy DeVito did an autograph signing at a burrito chain.

He also appeared at a local pizza joint, Coniglio’s Pizzeria and Bakery in Morristown, New Jersey, after it was reported his agent big-timed the restaurant by asking for an exorbitant fee.

DeVito ended up doing it free of charge after the PR snafu.

Then, on Wednesday, Tommy DeVito did yet another appearance at the Hobby Hive in East Hanover.

Also appearing at the shop? None other than Jersey Shore star Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi.

Real Housewives of New Jersey star Danielle Cabral was also a part of the festivities.

“An honorary meatball. 🤌🏽 Such a fun event, thanks,” Snooki wrote on Instagram alongside a photo of her posing with DeVito.

“Tommy was awesome, taking his time taking pictures, giving autographs. There were a lot of kids,” Hobby Hive owner Joe Gossweiler told Page Six.
