Alabama’s Tony Brown Appears To Shove Puny Auburn Fan Following Iron Bowl Loss

Alabama players aren’t schooled in losing. Following Auburn’s 26-14 upset win over the previously undefeated Alabama Crimson Tide, Bama senior defensive back Tony Brown appears to have pushed/punched an Auburn fan who rushed the field with the other 85,000 fans hyped over an Auburn W at Jordan Hare Stadium.

Brown, who had to be fuming that his squad won’t be included in the SEC Championship game for the first time since 2013, was allegedly reacting to a taunt by the fan before circling back and retaliating. Brown was immediately pulled away by team personnel.

“We are aware of the situation involving Tony Brown,” Nick Saban said in a statement released through the university, “and we are in the process of gathering more information.”

Auburn was fined a hefty $250,000 by the SEC for its fans storming the field. The fine was so high because Auburn has a history of keeping its fans in their seats. The school has violated the conference’s “access to competition area policy” three times: following a men’s basketball game against Kentucky in 2016, after the Kick Six win over Alabama in 2013, and Saturday’s Iron Bowl at Jordan Hare Stadium.

I’m of the belief that if you’re on the field as a non-player/personnel, you’re fair game. Instead of the school being fined inordinate amounts of money, have the losing team do the dirty work for you and bamboozle anyone who comes on the field. I’m surprising the NCAA hasn’t adopted this ideology considering it would save schools more money on the backs of the athletes they profit from. But rules and regulations aside, how fucking great would it be to see Division 1 athletes teeing up on Billy from Geology? Answer: The best.

Moral of the story: talk shit, get hit.
