Trevor Bauer has produced another viral moment during his stint as a pitcher with the Long Island Ducks of the Atlantic League. Similar to his reaction to his no-hitter, the viral clip shows Bauer making a show of himself.
A video going viral on social media shows former Cy Young winner Trevor Bauer, playing for the Long Island Ducks of the Atlantic League, absolutely losing his mind at an umpire over a safe call at second base on a groundout play.
Video of Trevor Bauer brutalizing an Atlantic League umpire serves as reminder why no MLB team wants to sign him beyond the assault allegations
The clip sees Bauer repeatedly screaming that the call was “terrible” and demanding the ump open his eyes. The continued abuse of the ump saw Bauer and Ducks manager Luke Ford ejected from the game.

“Trevor Bauer claims there would be no negative PR if he were to sign a deal with an MLB team but here he is throwing a f—— temper tantrum in Indy ball like a pathetic loser. On top of the [alleged] assault, no one wants to sign him specifically for s— like this. He’s such a clown,” read one viral tweet.
“Cannot overstate what a corny loser Trevor Bauer is,” a second added.
“Trevor Bauer made over $100M playing in the MLB before blowing up his career for being a s— stain human. Now he’s screaming at umpires making $150/game and wondering why no one in MLB will give him another shot,” a third summarized.
The clip of Bauer going beast mode on the umpire came not long after he was widely mocked for his reaction to and lack of appreciation from his teammates after throwing a no-hitter in late April.
On April 26, Bauer threw a 7-inning no-hitter for the Long Island Ducks of the independent Atlantic League against the Lancaster Stormers. In the 13-0 win, Bauer allowed just one walk and struck out seven, throwing 84 pitches.
While he made a big scene of his celebration, his teammates seemed entirely nonplussed as they basically ignored him in the aftermath.

Although Bauer continues to campaign for a return to the big leagues, that seems less and less likely with each passing outburst.
Hypothetical: You’re the owner of an MLB team. I offer to take $0 salary and sign a minor league contract and go to Low A.
If the “he sucks now” crowd is right and I get lit up, you cut me, lose $0 and there’s no risk to the big league club.
If the “clubhouse cancer” crowd is…

According to one post on X/Twitter from a White Sox content creator, a friend of his “who works in a high level position in a MLB front office” explained why no MLB teams want anything to do with Bauer.
“No interest in him for yrs. PR nightmare, players don’t want him around, control freak and a diva, wants special treatment. League minimum talk on X is a desperation play for clicks, eyeballs. Every scouting dept monitors NPB, MEX. Velo+spin down, control diminishing. Workout programs took backseat to YouTube career, shows on field. Doesn’t have the stuff to make a 40man, wouldn’t make our LowA roster. Would be shocked if he ever gets even a minor league deal again. Def won’t with us, friends in other offices say same.”
Texted my friend who works in a high level position in a MLB front office to ask him if he had any insight into why Trevor Bauer isn’t getting any traction in the MLB again. This is his verbatim response, copied and pasted with permission:

Bauer was accused of sexual assault by multiple women in 2021, with the most prominent accuser obtaining a temporary restraining order against him in California, alleging he had physically and sexually assaulted her during two encounters. A second woman made similar allegations shortly after.
The LA DA’s office declined to prosecute due to concerns about being able to prove the sexual acts were non-consensual beyond a reasonable doubt in court.
MLB placed Bauer on administrative leave and launched an investigation, which was then followed by the league suspending him for 324 games — the longest suspension for on-field conduct in league history — which was later reduced to 194 games on appeal. He was released by the Dodgers and never signed by another MLB team. Bauer has consistently denied all allegations and filed defamation lawsuits against some of his accusers.
Similar to Bryson Dechambeau, who recently said he’d start focusing more on his YouTube channel, Bauer career in the coming years may be relegated to social media content, as well.
