Oregon Disrespected USC’s Famously Persistent Marching Band By Sticking It In Worst Seats Possible

USC football was without one of its biggest weapons during Saturday’s college football game against Oregon on Saturday night. The Trojans brought their famous marching band to Eugene. The Ducks forced them in the furthest corner of the stadium, so they may as well have been back in Los Angeles.

It was a little bit of payback for what the former did to the latter last year! The Ducks were pushed to the very top of the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum.

USC’s Spirit of Troy marching band is among the best in the country. It is Hollywood’s band, so the Trojans have been featured in all kinds of different commercials and music videos dating back to the 70s.

Although the Spirit of Troy is famous and flashy, it is also very technical — and very loud. USC has a vast musical portfolio. However, it keeps things very simple while in the stands on game day.

No matter where you go, you can hear the band. It is a rallying cry for the football team on big downs. It is a congregator of support for the team throughout the game.

That can be said about all college marching bands, but the ‘Tribute to Troy’ will be stuck in your head— whether you like it or not. They pound it into your head in support of their team.

Oregon clearly tried to minimize the Spirit of Troy’s impact during a potential season-deciding matchup on Saturday night. The Ducks did not want the booming brass ringing in their ears all night, and looked to keep the Trojans as far away from their musical support as possible.

It was pretty hilarious how far away from the field that USC’s band was located. Autzen Stadium does not have a more distant seat. Oregon stuck it in the highest and most isolated corner possible.

In the end, the Spirit of Troy could not rally the Trojans, who lost by nine.
