Washington picked up a huge win over Texas in the opening round of the College Football Playoff on Monday, and players were caught up in the intense emotion of that exciting victory after the fact.

A group of Huskies were seen arguing with Longhorns fans after the game, rubbing salt in the wound with a few vicious ‘Horns Down’ gestures.

In the video, which has since gone viral on social media, two UW players are seen clashing with angry Texas supporters on the field.

“We run the south,” the Husky players yelled, sparking an immediate reaction from their counterparts.

The interaction came following an incredible playoff matchup that came down to the final play.

Washington jumped out to a two-score fourth quarter lead on the back of quarterback Michael Penix, but the Longhorns battled to give themselves a chance on the final drive.

A late UT field goal made the score 37-31, and the Texas defense would hold strong on the next possession to give the offense the ball back in the final minute.

Quinn Ewers drove the unit into the redzone before an incompletion on fourth and goal ended the game.

The intensity of that contest was obvious in the player-fan altercation with a national title appearance on the line.

With the victory, the Huskies improved to 14-0 on the season, keeping championship hopes (and a UW frat’s $50K bet) alive. The program is looking to bring home its first title since 1991.

Fittingly enough, they landed that title with a win over Michigan, the Huskies’ CFP championship game opponent next weekend.

As for Texas, the loss ends their season. The Longhorns went 12-2 in their final season in the Big XII.
