Mike Vrabel Plans To Use Reverse Psychology To Teach Will Levis How To Slide With Violent Video

Will Levis played the best game of his young NFL career on Monday night in a one-point come-from-behind road win over the Miami Dolphins. Tennessee’s rookie quarterback completed 23-of-28 passes for 327 yards with one touchdown and one interception.

He also added 15 rushing yards on four carries. His best run of the night was angry enough to earn him a scepter from the fine folks over at Good Morning Football.

Levis hit Jalen Ramsey so hard that the Dolphins defensive back literally folded in half!

Later, on the same drive, Levis once again tucked the ball and ran directly into hard contact near the goal line. He got licked at the one.

Although his toughness and determination is admirable, Will Levis was leaving himself exposed. No head coach wants to see his quarterback involved in big collisions. Certainly not often.

Mike Vrabel is no different! The 48-year-old spoke about Levis’ grit on Tuesday afternoon and acknowledged that he’s a gamer.

However, the Titans would prefer if their franchise signal-caller did not take as many hits. They tried to get him to slide more often last week by showing him a video of other NFL quarterbacks doing so.

That, clearly, did not work. Levis did not slide on Monday.

Vrabel and Tennessee are going to take a different approach this week. They’re going to use some reverse psychology to (hopefully) scare Levis into going down before contact moving forward.

We’re still trying to work on that. We showed him videos of quarterbacks sliding, and using the rules to their advantage.

Guess we’ll have to show him videos of quarterbacks not sliding and getting the s— knocked out of them, so… we’re going to try that out the other way this week!

The Titans, at 5-8, are pretty much out of the NFL playoff picture at this point. There is always a chance, but it is slim.

They will play the Texans, Seahawks, Texans (again) and Jaguars in their final four games. It is more about building toward the future with Levis than it is trying to play their way into the playoffs this year.

One game at a time.

Will Levis learn how to slide? Only time will tell.

In the meantime, Jalen Ramsey looks awfully silly!
