A lot of NFL fans were very upset when Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow left the game Thursday night with an injury to his hand or wrist.

There were multiple reasons for fans’ discontent.

First, an image showing Joe Burrow with something that looked like a brace or a wrap on his throwing hand was posted, then deleted, from X (formerly Twitter) by the Bengals.

That alone stirred up the hornet’s nest of NFL fans wondering if Cincinnati was trying to hide an injury to Burrow’s hand.

During the game things only got worse for Cincinnati when Joe Burrow had to leave the game after appearing to hurt his hand or wrist on a play where there was no contact.

So, not only were Bengals fans angry that their franchise quarterback may have been playing with a significant injury to his throwing hand/wrist, Cincinnati also didn’t have Burrow on the injury report, upsetting gamblers and fantasy football players who lost money in part due to the quarterback not finishing the game.

Now, the NFL will reportedly be investigating whether or not Cincinnati broke the rules by not revealing Burrow was injured before the game.

As a result of all the furor and the pending investigation, Bengals head coach Zac Taylor wasted no time after game getting the spin started.

“It looked like he sprained his wrist. [He] fell on it early in the game and then felt it on the touchdown pass,” Taylor claimed in his post-game press conference.

When asked if Burrow had injured his wrist before the game, Taylor responded, “Not that I am aware of.”

Taylor was also asked the one question all of those upset with Burrow’s injury, for various reasons: was he aware of Joe Burrow wearing a wrist brace before the game?

He claimed that he wasn’t.

“That was the first I saw anything about it,” said Taylor.

Considering how obvious the wrap on Burrow’s hand/wrist was when he got off the plane, many NFL fans weren’t buying what Zac Taylor said.

“Either he’s lying or Burrow hid his injury from the coaches. But how did they not notice him on the team bus wearing the brace?” someone else pondered.

“So he didn’t know his $275 million QB was wearing a brace on his hand?? Great coach…” another fan commented.
