The New Trailer For ‘Red Dead Redemption 2’ Is Finally Here

Rockstar

If you’ve ever found yourself riding on a horse through the hills of Mexico while a whimsical folk song plays in the background, you know why Red Dead Redemption is considered one of the best video games of all time. Fans have been eagerly awaiting a follow-up for years and were understandably elated when Rockstar announced the release of a sequel last fall.

It’s been almost a year since the reveal, and so far, we’ve only had a teaser and a few screenshots to tide us over. Christmas is still a few months away, but today we were given an early present in the form of the second official trailer.

Someone named “Dutch” is mentioned in the video, which is a reference to the leader of the gang John Marston belonged to in the original Read Dead. This could suggest that the sequel might actually be a prequel, although no real details about the plot have leaked yet aside from the following:

“The story of outlaw Arthur Morgan and the Van der Linde gang as they rob, fight and steal their way across the vast and rugged heart of America in order to survive.”

The game— which was originally slated to come out this fall before being delayed— will be released on an as of yet undetermined point in the spring of 2018.
