Dude Jumps Onto A Trampoline With 1,000 Mousetraps And Films The Madness In Slow-Mo HD

While watching this footage, it literally just dawned on me that every YouTube channel I love is slowly morphing into a toned down version of MTV’s Jackass. All of the most viral videos these days involve outlandish stunts of some form, a format perfected by Johnny Knoxville and Steve-O on MTV back in the day.

Case in point, The Slow Mo Guys, a YouTube channel with 9 MILLION subscribers, filming themselves jump from a ladder onto a trampoline full of 1,000 armed mousetraps all waiting to pop open and jump. The edge they have here over the Jackass bros of yesteryear is technology. They are able to film outlandish clips in 4K resolution and show them in slow motion. These YouTubers have taken the Jackass formula and brought it to a whole new level.

This is mesmerizing, and I love it:

Also, I don’t mean to imply that everything The Slow Mo Guys does is derivative. I’m a big fan of their work and love watching their ridiculous experiments. They tend to err more on the side of science than complete and utter chaos. But you have to admit, building a 50-foot flamethrower or sticking a tongue inside of a mouse trap are both things we could’ve easily expected from the Jackass crew back on MTV….You bros see these similarities, right?
