Just a little word to the wise for you bros: if April 1 is rolling around and you’re planning on doing a light-hearted prank on Kenyon Martin, please make sure you tell your loved ones you love them beforehand because you’re probably not going to make it out alive.

If you don’t believe me, just ask Martin’s former Denver Nuggets teammate, J.R. Smith, and a Nuggets (ex) ball boy who is likely in hiding as I type this. Martin appeared on ESPN’s Highly Questionable and told a riveting story about how he almost murdered J.R. Smith and his crony ball boy over a popcorn prank.

Smith recruited one of the Nuggets’ ball boys to fill Martin’s car to the brim with popcorn. Martin became so enraged that he stormed back into the locker room and demanded to know who the culprit was.

“That ain’t no fucking joke,” Martin said. “I’m going to find out who did it … put my fucking hands on one of y’all. I’m going to put my hands on whoever did it. You better believe that. It’s fucking personal. You better believe it.”

Check out the audio of the locker room tirade below.

Martin’s recollection of the story on Highly Questionable is very entertaining because it still feels like he’s not quite over it.

In any event, there ain’t no problem with J.R.

The anti-drug people gave him a $50 savings bond for his brave contribution to crime-fighting, and upon the bond’s maturity 10 years later, he used it to buy his very first bag of marijuana.
