Emma Watson is returning to Brown University

Emma Watson will be returning to Brown University in the fall of 2013, just as she said she would when she left there back in 2011. Watson, who has two films coming out this summer, This is the End and Bling Ring, due out just two days apart next week, likes being in control of her education. This is why she chose Brown as she tells Rookiemag.com

I really like the fact that it has a very open curriculum, that there aren’t any requirements. Really, I’ve kind of been in charge of my own education since I started out on Potter when I was 9 or 10, and I liked that I could design my own major if I wanted to, and I could take independent studies if I wanted to on subjects that weren’t necessarily in the curriculum.

Watson also said that Brown attracts a certain type of student, people who are very independent and to take responsibility and control of what they’re learning.

It’ll be interesting to see if she can still throw “a party for nearly 100 students” and not have a single person put a photo on Facebook like she said happened the last time she attended school there.
