Want To See What 170 Cars Doing A Burnout At The Same Time Looks Like? Are You An American? Hell Yeah, You Do!

Ever since November 10, 1951 when Sir Hugh Beaver, the managing director of the Guinness Breweries, realized there was no book of record with which to determine the fastest game bird in Europe, resulting in the very first Guinness Book of Records in August 1954, people the world over have been attempting mostly pointless, yet very entertaining feats in an effort to become immortalized.

On August 19, 2019, yet another group of people went on a quest at immortality when 170 cars gathered at Bandimere Speedway in Colorado to attempt the largest simultaneous car tire burnout in history.

Their target for the day was the 126 car simultaneous tire burnout Guinness World Record Australia laid claim to at Summernats 26 in Canberra back in January of 2019.

That attempt broke the previous record of 119 cars set by Saudia Arabia in 2017.

Following the very American philosophy of go big or go home, the folks at the at the 107.9 KBPI Rock n’ Roll Car Show in Bandimere didn’t want to just break the record, they wanted to obliterate it with 170 high-performance cars.

As you will see in the videos below, they succeeded mightily.

The view from ground-level was truly a sight to behold (and one that was probably really bad for anyone with breathing difficulties).

Sadly, it was for naught as Guinness denied them their glory, at least officially, claiming the record was not confirmed, nor could an application for a new record attempt be confirmed, according to Motor1.com.

Lame, right?

Oh well, we all know who the simultaneous car tire burnout world record-holders really are, don’t we? Suck it, Australia.
