If you spend a lot of time flying, you’ll know that airplane etiquette is fundamental. However, when one seatmate committed the ultimate airplane faux pas, this TikToker took action.
In the viral video, which has garnered 160,100 views, Kyle Wilemon (@kylewilemon77) was seemingly sitting in an airport. While doing this, he introduced the second part of his apparently ongoing series: “Airplane Etiquette Is Gone.”
He went on to describe how the person next to him on the flight was playing music out loud. On a plane, it is one of the cardinal sins.
In turn, Wilemon says he asked his seatmate, “When do you plan on turning that off?”
The man responded that he didn’t really like headphones. So, Wilemon repeated his question and “just looked at him.” Apparently, that was all he needed to do in order to get results.
“Then he turned it off, and I enjoyed my flight,” Wilemon concluded, before adding that he was “teaching one person at a time how to be a good person on a flight.”
“Proper etiquette,” he continued. “Don’t blast your music or your game or your movie on the plane if you are sitting next to me or anywhere.”

Did People Agree With Him?
In the comments, many took the opportunity to vent about how they were wronged on flights and in airports.
“Biggest airplane etiquette violation: reclining your seat,” one wrote. “These seats are tight for all of us. Don’t recline….EVER. I will die on this hill!”
“Also I need people to stop taking calls on speaker or FaceTimes,” a second added. “Like we do not need to hear your entire conversation in the airport.”
“Should we mention the part when once landed, people from behind you rush forward to get in line to get off the plane rather than going by row?” a third asked. “My biggest peeve in traveling.”
Meanwhile, others admitted they were probably the problem.
“I had a similar situation happen to me,” a fourth revealed. “It was a long night flight and I was bored so I decided to play solitaire. I guess the illumination from my screen was annoying the guy next to me and he asked me to turn off my game. I told him no and played for another two hours.”
And a fifth simply said, “I don’t like headphones.” Wilemon replied, “Not our problem.”
@kylewilemon77 Airplane etiquette part 2 because somehow it got even worse. Flying from Los Angeles (LAX) to Nashville and the person next to me had the audacity to play their music and movies straight off their phone. No headphones. Full volume. For the whole cabin to enjoy. Seems like people just have either no filter or no situational awareness. #flying #plane #rant #travel #fyp
Airplane Etiquette Is A Lost Art
As BroBible previously reported, there are some things you just don’t do on an airplane. Yet, these tales of airplane sin just keep coming. Another recent example was cited in a TikTok posted on an account with the handle @jaydenarlo. It’s worth noting that the person in the video doesn’t appear to be the TikTok account holder.
“The easiest way to tell if someone is a good person in an airport is to see where they put their luggage when they get on the plane,” this person said to the camera.
“If they put their carry-on luggage in the overhead compartment, and they put their personal item like their backpack or their purse under their seat, they’re a good person, and they’re aware of their surroundings,” he claimed.
“If they put their backpack or their purse or like that little small item, if they put that in the overhead compartments that no one else can put their carry-on luggage on and they have to check it and they have to wait by baggage claim to get their stuff, they are the worst type of person and they deserve a jail sentence for life,” he concluded.
Clearly, judging by both this and Wilemon’s TikTok, if airplane etiquette jail was a thing, it wouldn’t take long for those cells to fill. It raises one important question: will manners ever make a comeback?
