There are so many rumors floating around about New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick.

Is he going to get fired? Will he go to another team?

Boston comedian Bill Burr has heard enough of that kind of talk.

“Guys, relax!” Burr said on The Rich Keefe Show this week.

“He has eight rings. He has one more than Brady. He shut down John Elway. I’m done talking about this.

“The run and gun. Greatest Show on Turf. Won three [rings] with a sixth-round draft pick, and then everybody then was calling Brady a systems quarterback. And then they win three more and all of a sudden Brady knows everything and Belichick doesn’t know anything,” Bill Burr continued.

“And everybody forgets the Eagles victory. And everybody says that Pete Carroll screwed up rather than that was an unbelievable coaching job by Bill Belichick and his crew to have that defense ready for that play.

“That whole year, all it was, was either an incomplete pass or a touchdown until they played us.”

Unfortunately, for both Bills, the Patriots are now 2-7 after losing to the now 4-5 Washington Commanders 20-17 last weekend.

Speaking of the Commanders, another one of the rumors surrounding Bill Belichick is, according to Mike Florio, “a theory out there that when the season ends, Josh Harris the new owner of the Commanders is going to call the Patriots and inquire about what it would take to get Bill Belichick.”

How exactly would that happen since Belichick reportedly signed a substantial multi-year contract extension with New England prior to the 2023 season?

“So the Patriots wouldn’t fire him. The Patriots would especially trade him to Washington,” Florio explained.

With Tom Brady as his starting quarterback, Bill Belichick went 232-62 during the regular season in New England, won 17 AFC East titles in 19 years, went 30-11 in the playoffs and won six Super Bowls.

Without Tom Brady, The Hoodie sports a dismal 32-42 record with zero AFC East titles and one playoff appearance – a loss to Buffalo in a 2021 Wild Card Game.

So, like it or not, unless New England can turn things around, and fast, the argument that Belichick can’t win without Brady is going to stick to him like dog poop on the bottom of his shoe.
