Billy McFarland of Fyre Festival infamy was released from prison in May of last year (the same week Martin Shkreli also got out of the hoosegow).
Since then, the convicted fraudster has been up to his old tricks trying to get people to invest in more of his hare-brained schemes like a new project called PYRT.
In October of 2022, TMZ reported that Billy McFarland was also planning on putting on another festival.
It turns out they were right.
On Sunday, Billy McFarland tweeted, “Fyre Festival II is finally happening. Tell me why you should be invited.”
Responses to McFarland’s tweet about holding a second Fyre Fesitval have been a treasure trove of entertainment.
“If you need any help with planning, there’s a great documentary on this!” read one tweet.
Will Ja Rule be there?

“I can give you dozens of reasons why even if I were invited I wouldn’t go,” another person tweeted.
I volunteer as a tribute.

“How can there be version II if there was no version I?” someone else astutely observed.

“First, tell us why should YOU be invited?” asked another person.

Last May, after his release from the Milan Federal Correctional Institution in Milan, Michigan McFarland’s attorney Jason Russo said, “Any new projects that he does become involved in will be done solely for the purpose of generating the restitution for paying back his victims.”
At the time of his sentencing, McFarland was ordered to repay $26,182,386 to his numerous victims.
