If you haven’t gotten your daily dose of “Want To Feel Old?” today, I have a feeling what you’re about to read will do the trick: April will mark the fifth anniversary of the unforgettable weekend where the world watched the unmitigated disaster that was Fyre Festival unfold in real-time.

That’s right; it’s been almost half a decade since internet celebrities and aspiring influencers used social media to document the millennial version of Lord of the Flies—a fiasco that spawned countless memes, a picture of the saddest sandwich ever made, and a number of lawsuits filed on behalf of the people who were unfortunate enough to endure it.

When everything was said and done, Fyre Festival mastermind Billy McFarland was able to swindle more than $26 million from sponsors and attendees. There’s been a fairly concerted effort to recover those funds and compensate the victims of the scam, but last year, the 277 ticketholders engaged who were initially led to believe they’d receive over $7,000 got some bad news when that number was slashed to around $280 due to how little had been recouped.

However, it would appear that number is actually a grand total of $200.72 based on a photo that was posted by someone who was unfortunate enough to have a front-row seat to the legendary dumpster fyre.

On Friday, former Real World cast member Violetta Milerman posted a picture of the settlement check she received in exchange for the lifetime of trauma she had the pleasure of enduring in the Bahamas on that fateful weekend and, well, at least she seems to be taking it in stride.

You might not be able to put a price on memories, but I guess the same can’t be said for living nightmares.
