Drake is a champion once again.

Everyone knows that the superstar is a huge basketball fan and bettor, but he plays, too.

The rap star’s NTIG team won the Sanctuary Basketball League championship this week, securing a second-straight title. For those that don’t know, the SBL is essentially a rec league hosted by Drake at his in-home court.

His three-man team outmatched its competition, and they celebrated accordingly. Champagne Papi burst out the bubbly for a celebratory champagne shower.

A video surfaced online of a teammate draining the game-winning shot to secure the victory. Drake, however, struggled on offense throughout the final contest.

Those struggles didn’t appear to hurt his confidence as he compared himself to one of the NBA’s greats after the championship win.

After the win, Drake shook off the poor shooting performance, saying his defense helped lead the squad to another title. Here’s what the rap star had to say after the win.

“I did what Kobe did in Game 7 against the Celtics. Shots not falling, you play f-n defense.”

Drake refers to a 2010 matchup between the Lakers and Celtics where Kobe Bryant shot just 6 for 24 from the floor but pulled down 15 boards to help his team clinch the series deciding win.

We’re not sure what Drake’s final line was but we do know that he and his teammates will take home a set of trophies for the win.

Let’s see if they can repeat in 2023. Until then, they’ll hold SBL bragging rights for one year more.
