Most of us don’t associate Dunkin’ Donuts with drinking, unless you’re an unabashed sot which is fine if you are, this is a no-judgment zone. But great news for fans of Dunkin’ and beer because the two are colliding in a very exciting collaboration that is the most ambitious crossover event in months.

Dunkin’ Donuts is teaming up with the Harpoon Brewery, which was founded by Dan Kenary, Rich Doyle, and George Ligeti in 1986. The Boston-based brewery, which is known for their award-winning IPA and their line of UFO beers, is now the 18th largest crafter brewer in the United States.

With the help of Dunkin’ Donuts, the Harpoon Brewery will make a porter beer that will be 6% alcohol by volume. The Dunkin’ Donuts-inspired brew is said to be released sometime around late October or early November in 12-ounce bottles and cans. “This porter is our tribute to all the days that Dunkin’ has helped us fire up the brew kettle,” the bottle’s label says. Mmmm breakfast beer. Porter and coffee are a match made in heaven and we expect that Harpoon will knock this collaboration out of the park.

Last fall, Dunkin Donuts teamed up with craft brewer Catawba Brewing Company in Morganton, North Carolina for a special small-batch beer with a pumpkin spice flavor.

Grab a cruller, have an extra large Dunkin’ beer, three Parliaments, take a big dump.” I told you this was a no-judgement zone.
