Elon Musk dragged himself into the GTA VI discussion and he, in turn, got dragged by everyone on his own site for a hot take that’s so vanilla you’d expect to hear it in a Drake song.

As everyone on X (formerly Twitter) was talking about the highly-anticipated GTA VI trailer that was released on Monday, Elon Musk joined the discourse to say he tried to play the games but didn’t like doing crime. Which, of course, is a complete disconnect from reality as this is a video game he’s talking about not there is no crime whatsoever taking place. Here’s what Elon had to say:

As you can see, there’s a big ol’ ‘Community Notes‘ alert underneath Elon’s response. So in addition to they 2.6 thousand replies the X CEO has received to his weak take on GTA, Elon Musk has also had his own technology used against him.

One troll in Community Notes wrote “Those cops aren’t people, they’re Canadians so it’s alright.” Another person pointed out three ways Elon Musk actually loves to break the law and linked to an article detailing all of that. They claim Elon Musk has engaged in “Violating public health rules, Running unsafe work places, Threatening a whistleblower and attacking employees.”

Elsewhere, someone in Community Notes points out that you don’t actually ever have to kill cops in GTA in order to complete missions. That’s just all of the trolling on Community Notes. In Elon’s replies, and elsewhere, he’s getting dragged for his take.

The top reply to Elon Musk’s GTA take says “Some s— Drake would say.” Right below that, someone replied “They’re pixels dawg.”

Meanwhile, it wasn’t that long ago that Elon Musk was demanding a cameo on Cyberpunk 2077, a game where the main character constantly shoots officers of the law. So he’s cool with that game but not GTA?

Someone else in Elon Musk’s GTA-related mentions joked that “Elon the type of dude to follow the speed limit in GTA.”

It’s hard to imagine why Elon felt the need to inject himself into the GTA VI discourse at all. He could have, after all, just not discussed how he didn’t like pixels breaking imaginary laws but then again, he simply cannot stop himself from Tweeting.

For any GTA VI fans out there, this morning I broke down all of the real-life Florida Man moments in the GTA VI trailer, so check that out if you’re interested.
