There’s a good chance you currently own a number of products that feature warning labels seemingly designed for consumers who don’t possess a single iota of common sense.
Most reasonable people probably don’t need to be informed sleeping pills “may cause drowsiness” or that the carton of eggs they purchased “may contain eggs.”
With that said, most brands still err on the side of caution, as most of those messages can be traced back to at least one person who pursued legal action after somehow neglecting to exercise some seemingly obvious restraint.
That includes plenty of people on social media who’ve sparked a number of trends that have forced corporate attorneys to scramble to address an issue they probably never dreamed they’d have to tackle when they were in law school.
It’s hard to think of a better example highlighting that reality than “The TidePod Challenge,” which resulted in the folks behind the product revamping the packaging and releasing a number of reminders stressing the fact that laundry detergent is not, in fact, intended for human consumption.
Now, Fruit Roll-Ups is facing a similar issue thanks to a recent TikTok trend that has inspired plenty of people to throw the childhood treats into the freezer before consuming them in stick form.

However, there is one minor issue with that particular form of frozen dessert: Fruit Roll-Ups are wrapped in a layer of plastic that you’re supposed to remove before eating them, a fact that more than a few people have apparently managed to overlook before taking a bite.
This led to Fruit Roll-Ups releasing a PSA on TikTok that featured a video of multiple people taking a bite out of the unwrapped snacks along with the message “legal is making me clarify that you should not attempt to eat plastic.”

What a world.
