The marketing team for this pop-up bar didn’t need a squad of Instagram models to promote their new venture. That’s because the dumpster fire that was the Fyre Festival was such an egregious failure of epic proportions that an entire industry has been created in reveling in how epically pathetic it was. There have been two documentaries spotlighting the ponderous fiasco and now there will be a Fyre Festival-themed bar to celebrate how much of a miscarriage the failed festival was.
The Replay Lincoln Park Bar has had several themes since they opened including Game of Thrones, It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, and The Office, now the establishment will feature a pop-up bar that brings you to the debacle that was the Fyre Festival, minus all the fraud and stealing your money with false promises.
The Bahamian island of Great Exuma will come to the windy city as the Fyre Festival pop-up bar will feature palm trees, beach chairs, and even the “relief tents” that were provided to the Bahamas by FEMA. There will even be “gourmet cheese sandwiches,” better known as “sad sandwiches.” The bar will serve “tiki drinks,” including a Frozen Rum Runner, Hibiscus Margarita, and Pineapple Upside Down Martini.
You won’t have to empty out your trust fund to go to the “greatest party” because admission is free, but tickets to the opening night party will cost $21.97, but will come with a fishbowl cocktail. But just like the Fyre Festival, the pop-up bar will be gone before you know it. The Fyre Festival-themed bar will run from May 3-19 or whenever they run out of money. Don’t expect to see Ja Rule there or Billy McFarland since he is serving six years in federal prison for fraud.
If you go to the bar, just stick with cocktails and beer. Don’t order water. You don’t wanna know what you have to do to get water.
