A Toronto-based restaurant chain, Good Fortune Burger, has come up with a rather unique way to both get attention and perhaps even increase their business.
The have changed the names of all of the food items on their menu to office supplies. So now, their Fortune Burger is called a Basic Steel Stapler. Their Parm Fries are now called CPU Wireless Mouse. The Double Your Fortune Burger is now an Ergonomic Aluminium Laptop Stand. The Diamond Chicken Burger is now the Mini Dry Erase Whiteboard. And so on.
So smart it hurts. Torino to based burger joint, Good Fortune Burger, renamed its menu items to office supplies so customers could expense their lunch#marketing #receats #brand #reactive #menu pic.twitter.com/30fl6D2KOS

Clever, right?
Called #RECEATS, Jon Purdy, Director of Operations at Good Fortune Burger, doesn’t actually expect people to attempt to pass their menu items off as office supplies, they’re just having a little fun.
“We just wanted an opportunity to put a smile on some people’s faces and have them have a little bit of a giggle,” Purdy told blogTO.
When some reacted to Good Fortune Burger’s unique promotion by expressing concern that they are going to get employees into trouble, Purdy said, “There’s no malice intended in it, it’s all just fun and games.”
Considering how the restaurant chain has been captioning its funny social media posts with phrases like “Ethical? No. Delicious? Yes.” and using hashtags like #DontGetFired, a person would really have to not care about their job to try to pass their food off as office supplies.
After all, as Good Fortune Burger wrote on one social media post, “It might be wrong. It might be crazy. But… it might just work. #Receats #ItMightNotTho.”
Although… if you work from home… ehhh, probably not.
Renaming your food items so they can be easily expensed when WFH. Well done Good Fortune Burger. I’ll have a side of black pens with my whiteboard please. pic.twitter.com/DN0GT2fd71

I love out-of-the-box marketing.
Good Fortune Burger In Toronto took this to another level.
They changed the names of their menu items to office supplies so their customers can expense their lunch.
They call it #RECEATS
The goal?
