Mark Zuckerberg Shared The Story How He Met His Wife While Thinking He Was Getting Kicked Out Of Harvard

The story of how Mark Zuckerberg met his wife, Dr. Priscilla Chan, has been floating around in some form or another for years. As it goes, Mark met Priscilla at a frat party at Harvard.

As it turns out, there’s more to that story than has been told in the past. Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg shared the story in an Instagram post and it wasn’t just any frat party. In fact, it was a party held by Mark Zuckerberg’s friends who believed he was going to be getting kicked out of Harvard in the coming days.

Mark Zuckerberg’s caption about meeting his wife reads: “20 years since our first date. We met at a going away party my friends threw for me in college when they thought I was about to get kicked out of school. I asked her out but told her we’d need to go out soon since I might only have a few days left. Later on I started Facebook, we got married, and now have three wonderful girls. What a wild ride.”

How long is 20 years exactly? Let’s break it down…

That’s 7,305 days since their first date. Or 240 months. Or 1043 weeks and 4 days. Or 175,320 hours. Or 631,152,000 seconds. That’s a lonnnnng time. Or, when time flies, it can feel like it was just yesterday.

I’d just like to send a quick shout out to his ‘I Love Sloths’ shirt for stealing the show in that pic. It makes me long for the graphic tee era of the early oughts. I was also a sophomore at this time (at FSU, not Harvard) and there’s a non-zero chance I also owned this same ‘I Love Sloths’ shirt which is sort of breaking my brain to think about right now.

Of course, we know that Mark never got the boot from Harvard and he instead opted to drop out during his Sophomore year to pursue Facebook full time. It turned out to be one of the best decisions ever made by anyone of the past 100 years.

Mark and Dr. Priscilla Chan got married in 2012 in a party that also celebrated her graduation from medical school at UCSF. An absolutely baller two-fer of a party.

She’s also been featured on Mark’s Instagram quite a bit lately. She was seen tending to him at his bedside following ACL surgery on November 3rd.

Mark tore his ACL while training for a competitive MMA fight that was set to be held early next year but has since been postponed until he’s fully healed and built back stronger than before. Prior to his ACL injury, Dr. Chan also joined Mark in dressing up as characters from Harry Potter along with their three daughters including their infant baby Dobby the House Elf.
