Due to the ongoing actors’ strike, Hugh Jackman has had to keep himself in Wolverine shape for quite a few months now, as production on Deadpool 3 began just days before the strike, meaning production was paused in the midst of it.

The strike began on July 14, which means we’re less than two weeks away from the strike entering its fourth month.

Because of this, and the fact that the strike could end at any moment and therefore relaunch any productions that were ongoing when it began, Jackman has had to maintain his famed superhero shape for months now. He’s also had to keep that beard around, too.

Jackman, however, obviously has experience in getting and staying yolked, as he first played Wolverine back in 2000’s X-Men (he didn’t start to *really* get ripped until the second one, before eventually talking it to a whole other level in X-Men: Days of Future Past, The Wolverine, and Logan).

In a recent video posted to social media that he captioned “Hurts so good”, Jackman can be seen wrapping up a set on the bench, and although sparse, highlights just how ripped the 54-year-old is nevertheless.

While Deadpool 3 is currently scheduled to release in movie theaters on May 3, 2024, it’s highly unlikely that the film will maintain that date, especially if the strike carries on for another month.

According to reports, SAG-AFTRA, the actors’ union, and the AMPTP, the studios’ union, met for negotiations on Monday and will continue talks on Wednesday. Now that the writers’ strike has been resolved, there is growing optimism that the actors’ strike will end soon, as well.

Deadpool 3, which of course also stars Ryan Reynolds, will be Jackman’s first time playing the iconic X-Men role since 2017’s Academy Award-nominated Logan.

In addition to Reynolds and Jackman, Deadpool 3 will also feature Owen Wilson, Emma Corrin, Matthew Macfadyen, Morena Baccarin, Brianna Hildebrand, Jennifer Garner, and more.
