13 Stunning Images From ‘Red Dead Redemption 2,’ Rockstar: ‘There Will Be Multiple Special Editions’

Last week, we treated to a new trailer for Red Dead Redemption 2. To whet your appetite even more for the upcoming Western-themed open-world game, Rockstar Games released 13 new incredible images, despite the game not hitting consoles for 172 days.

Rockstar Games released the 13 images “featuring Arthur Morgan, Dutch, John and the rest of the Van der Linde gang.” Red Dead Redemption 2 is a prequel to the original and is set in 1899 out in the Wild West.

The original trailer for Red Dead Redemption 2 hit the internet on October 20, 2016, but since then there have been a number of delays that have pushed back the release date. Hopefully, all of these tedious setbacks will mean a completely extraordinary and one-of-a-kind gaming experience. There is some hope that these images point towards new gameplay features that will make the video game more immersive than ever.

RDR2 took eight years to develop and it shows in the gorgeous details of the images that are so vivid you might make one your wallpaper. The details in the lights and shadows are stunning. You’ll also see that you’ll be able to bust stuff up in the environment. You’ll notice in the photo above that the bench and the wall of the building have bullet holes in them for impressive real-time realism.

Rockstar also announced that Red Dead Redemption 2 will offer a few special editions available when it releases. They did not provide any details on what the special editions will offer, but you should expect figurines, posters, and/or in-game DLC

Red Dead Redemption 2 has a tentative release date of October 26 for PlayStation 4, and Xbox One (For real this time). While we wait, you can play the original <em>Red Dead Redemption on Xbox One X with a beautiful 4K upgrade.
