Actress and singer Janelle Monae was recently spotted dancing at Atlanta’s famed Magic City nightclub, which may ring a bell if you’re an NBA fan.

Monae, who has made tons of headlines this year with her newly founded risque brand of artistry, was down in Atlanta for the latest stop on her Age of Pleasure tour and apparently found herself on stage at the infamous gentlemen’s club.

The reason that Magic City might ring a bell for NBA fans is because back in 2020, former shooting guard Lou Williams stirred up a controversy when he broke the league’s quarantine protocols in order to visit the nightclub, claiming that he went there for dinner.

Specifically, Williams claimed, their lemon pepper wings, which resulted in him earning the nickname “Lemon Pepper Lou” (he’d go on to trademark the name, of course)

“None of us were pandemic experts at the time. Nobody, and so everything I did that day I thought I did it responsibly and this s— took a life of its own,” Williams later said of the incident on Draymond Green’s podcast.

“Was it a great decision? Looking back in hindsight probably not. But at that time, I didn’t think I was trippin’ I didn’t think I was doing nothing wrong. I could see it both ways.”

Monae is currently on tour in support of her new album The Age of Pleasure, which was released back in June. The Age of Pleasure is Monae’s fourth studio album following Dirty Computer (2018), The Electric Lady (2013), and The ArchAndroid (2010).

The 37-year-old Monae is also an actress, having most recently starred in Rian Johnson’s hit film Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery.
