The family of Mac Miller has announced a benefit concert in the name of the deceased rapper called “Mac Miller: A Celebration Of Life” Concert that will feature an all-star lineup. The announcement of the Mac Miller charity concert was made by Malcolm McCormick’s family and coincides with the launch of the Mac Miller Circles Fund (MMCF).
The Mac Miller Circles Fund was created in “honor of Malcolm’s commitment to the arts” and will “provide programming, resources and opportunities to youth from underserved communities, helping them recognize their full potential through exploration in the arts and community building.”
The Mac Miller benefit concert will happen on Halloween, October 31st, at the Greek Theatre in Los Angeles. The lineup for the charity concert is tremendous: Action Bronson, Anderson .Paak, Chance the Rapper, Dylan Reynolds, Domo Genesis, Earl Sweatshirt, J.I.D, John Mayer, Miguel, Njomza, ScHoolboy Q, SZA, Thundercat, Travis Scott, Ty Dolla $ign, Vince Staples, and more.
This is certainly a deserving send-off to the late Pittsburgh rapper and benefits a great cause. All net proceeds from ticket sales of the show will be donated to MMCF.
Tickets go on sale at Ticketmaster on October 5 at 10 a.m. PST.
Miller’s mother, Karen Meyers, issued a statement about the support she has received in making this concert happen:
“The support we’ve experienced is evident in this amazing line-up and is a testament to Malcolm’s incredible life,” Meyers said. “His Father, brother and I are beyond thankful to everyone who is working to make this concert happen along with every fan and every friend for continuing to support Malcolm and his vision. He was a caring, loving human with a smile that could light up the sky and a soul that was out to make the world a kinder place and the MMCF will continue to do just that.”
