It has been eight days since the entertainment world was rocked by the sudden passing of Mac Miller. One of the people who knew Mac Miller AKA Malcolm McCormick best was his ex-girlfriend Ariana Grande. The pop singer broke her silence on the death of her former love.

On Friday afternoon, Grande posted a heartfelt video on her Instagram of Mac and reminisced about the life and death of the beloved rapper. “I adored you from the day I met you when I was nineteen and I always will,” Grande wrote. “I can’t believe you aren’t here anymore. I really can’t wrap my head around it.”

Grande then discussed Mac’s drug abuse issues which ultimately led to his death when the 26-year-old rapper was found dead last Friday from an apparent overdose. “We talked about this. So many times. I’m so mad, I’m so sad I don’t know what to do,” the singer said. “You were my dearest friend. For so long. Above anything else. I’m so sorry I couldn’t fix or take your pain away. I really wanted to. The kindest, sweetest soul with demons he never deserved. I hope you’re okay now. rest.”

Last week, Ariana shared a tender photo of Mac, but did not caption the pic. The couple dated for two years before splitting up in May.

Mac Miller seemed to understand that he could die at anytime and prepared a will years before his death. According to E! News, Mac filed a legal will back in 2013.

In the will and testament, Malcolm McCormick names his parents as beneficiaries. The Pittsburgh rapper left his estate to his mother, Karen Meyer; father, Mark McCormick; and brother, Miller McCormick. The legal document also named his lawyer, David Byrnes, as the trustee who will remain in charge of his estate. If Byrnes is unable to carry out his duties then Mac’s brother Miller is named as the administrator.

The document did not reveal what Miller’s estate was worth as the value was stated as “unknown.” Mac Miller is reported to have a net worth of $9 million.

The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s Office is still waiting for toxicology reports to come back from the labs, which could take weeks.
