Spicy Pineapple Habanero Margarita
This fantastic margarita recipe brings just enough heat and just enough sweet.
- 1 Part Tequila (I used Clase Azul Reposado)
- 1 Habanero Pepper
- 1 Part Pineapple Juice
- Splash of Orange Liquer such as Triple Sec like Cointreau (I used Grand Marnier)
- Quick Squeeze of Agave Nectar (I used Wholesome Agave Nectar or try the keto-friendly all-natural sugar-free yacon syrup)
- 1 Lime
- Salt
Cut habanero pepper in half and remove seeds. Cook in a skillet over medium heat until they start to blister, flip and do the same to the other side. Mix the tequila, triple sec, pineapple juice, a squeeze of lime juice, and agave together and add the cooked habaneros. Muddle the peppers so that the habaneros can add the heat to the cocktail. Let the mixture sit for at least 15 minutes to overnight depending on how hot you want your cocktails. Take a lime slice and rub the wedge around the rim of the glass. Then dip the moist rim of the glass in coarse salt. Pour the drink into the glass and serve. Garnish with a lime slice.
