The good thing about becoming a famous country singer is that droves of blonde bombshells with cowboy boots and verified Instagram accounts gawk over you like flies to shit Mike Pence’s hair.

The bad thing about becoming a famous country singer is that these blonde bombshells operate in direct opposition to career advancement.

Morgan Wallen found that out the hard way this week when his upcoming performance on Saturday Night Live was canceled after a TikTok video was posted of him canoodling maskless with aforementioned blonde bombshells, and thus breaking COVID protocol.

The 27-year-old posted a video on his Instagram account Wednesday announcing the bad news, claiming it was a “tough” video to make but a necessary one.

“I was getting ready for ‘SNL’ this Saturday and I got a call from the show that I will no longer be able to play,” Wallen said. “And that’s because of Covid protocols, which I understand.”

Wallen said his “actions this past weekend were pretty shortsighted,” but praised Lorne Michaels for his encouragement.

“And they have obviously affected my long-term goals and my dreams,” he said. “I respect the show’s decision because I know that I put them in jeopardy and I take ownership for this. I’d like to apologize to ‘SNL,’ to my fans, to my team for bringing me these opportunities and I let them down.”

A tough break for Morgan, for sure, but I gotta admit, it’s difficult to feel bad for someone with luscious locks like this.
