The Trailer For Pete Davidson And Judd Apatow’s New Movie, The King Of Staten Island, Looks Fantastic

What a cast. Pete Davidson playing himself, Judd Apatow at the helm, Marisa Tomei as Pete’s mom, STEVE BUSCEMI, and Bill Burr as the fire fighter boyfriend?! Abso-fucking-lutely.

This movie is pretty close to home for me, as a lot of the people in this movie are great comedians that I work with in New York. Ricky Velez is one of the funniest people I know. He plays Pete’s best friend in this movie, and it seems that every role was cast true to life. Mike Vecchione, another great comic, plays one of the firemen. My podcast cohost Giulio is also really close with all these guys too, so I feel weirdly like I’m tangentially immersed in this movie. I’m sorry to shamelessly name-drop but I’ve just never known so many people in a movie before and I’m excited.

What a year for Pete, too. Netflix special, a couple controversies aired out in a Charlemagne interview, dating the most beautiful women to ever live, and now a biopic about his life directed by Judd Apatow—all before his 27th birthday. Good God. It’s like learning that your favorite athlete is 24. Really makes you feel like a complete waste of life but hey, at least we can enjoy the movie right?!
