In case the (*SPOILER WARNING*) reveal of the Dark Saber in the closing moments of season one didn’t clue you in, season two of The Mandalorian is not only set to be bigger and better but will also delve further into Star Wars lore.
Disney has taken another step towards ramping up the second season of the hit Disney+ series, as an exclusive report from SlashFilm indicates that Rosario Dawson has been cast as fan-favorite Jedi Ahsoka Tano for season two of The Mandalorian.
We have exclusively learned that Rosario Dawson will appear inThe Mandalorian season 2 and are excited to report that she will be playing a fan-favorite character previously only seen in the Star Wars animated productions. Dawson will be playing a live-action version of Ahsoka Tano, Anakin Skywalker’s Jedi padawan apprentice who appeared in Star Wars: The Clone Wars and Star Wars: Rebels. This would be the character’s first appearance in live-action. [via SlashFilm]
As the report states, Tano — Anakin Skywalker’s former padawan — made her Star Wars debut in the animated series The Clone Wars. Rosario’s appearance as the character in The Mandalorian will be the first time she is portrayed in live-action.
The second season of The Mandalorian, which was already filming while season two was airing, reportedly finished production earlier this month.
At this time, season two of The Mandalorian is set to hit Disney+ in October. All eight episodes of the first season are currently streaming. Additionally, all of The Clone Wars can also be found on Disney+.
