Las Vegas’ newest attraction, known as the ‘Sphere,’ cost a small fortune to build and will cost patrons a small fortune to get inside. To attend an event at one of the world’s coolest venues commands record-setting parking prices, and charges frustratingly expensive prices for drinks upon entry.

That doesn’t even include the price of the ticket.

The Sphere, located at the Venetian Resort, first lit up its exosphere on the 4th of July and a giant glowing ball of LED lights immediately took over both Sin City and social media. It opened its doors for the first-ever event inside the Sphere with a U2 concert on the last weekend of September and POV videos from the first few nights were truly remarkable with visuals that will take your breath away and leave your mind blown.

With a capacity of 18,000, the auditorium stands 366 feet tall and 516 feet wide.

Although U2’s residency will occupy most weekends at the Sphere through December, there is another unique opportunity to experience the world’s largest LED screen, which is also equipped with a whopping 164,000 surround-sound speakers. Darren Aronofsky, the Oscar-nominated director of ‘Black Swan’ and ‘The Whale,’ created a custom feature film for the Sphere.

The first look at the film went insanely viral— for good reason!

The Sphere’s first feature film is remarkable.

A curving 270-degree screen, which is about the size of four football fields, covers much of the walls and the ceiling inside of the Sphere. Creating a film for the venue required Aronofsky to use a special 18K camera. It allows the images to be broadcast on such a massive scale.

Aronofsky’s film, titled ‘Postcard From Earth,’ is essentially a 50-minute story about the creation of our planet, from life rising onto land, to human civilization, into the future when humanity may be forced to leave a despoiled earth and settle other worlds. Along the way, viewers are immersed in a school of fish, travel to churches, shrines and mosques, to the highest of mountain tops.

It’s kind of like giant ‘Planet Earth’ or a way better version of the Soarin’ ride at Disney World. CBS recently spoke with Aronofsky about the film.

Videos from inside the theater will change the way that you think of live entertainment.

“Postcard from Earth” at the Sphere! My seat was Section 304 Row 14 Seat 13. I recommend sitting either 200-300 towards the center. Yes it is steep so don’t mess around getting to your spot. 😱 The seats 💺 vibrate here and there. In my opinion, sometimes too long. 😁 Video quality was beautiful! #spherelasvegas #spherevegas
