Stetson Bennett made headlines last year, both for his play on the field and his celebration of a national title off of it. The star passer went viral after Georgia won its first football title since 1980.

Fast forward one year later and the Dawgs are still on top. A dismantling of TCU helped Georgia secure another championship in Bennett’s final game with the program.

Following the 2022 CFP title win, the quarterback made an appearance on Good Morning America to talk with Michael Strahan about the unbelievable accomplishment. But it appeared that Bennett was still celebrating that victory before coming on the air.

Many questioned whether the signal caller was drunk in that interview as he looked out of it for a majority of the discussion. We’ll let you be the judge.

Stetson Bennett didn’t get a chance to redeem himself in 2023.

Reports have surfaced that the passer missed his press conference spot early Tuesday morning, instead being replaced by tight end Brock Bowers.

Bowers says he was heading to the hotel lobby for breakfast when coach Kirby Smart informed him he’d be filling in for his teammate.

“I got a call saying, ‘You’re in the bullpen, come to media.’ I’m like, ‘Okay, Stetson’s not available, I guess I’ve got to go.'”

Bowers, a sophomore, might not be of legal age to celebrate the national championship win appropriately. Many fans online believe that Bennett had enough fun for the both of them.

Check out the reaction on social media.

One fan wrote, “He was borderline unavailable last year in the morning after media availability…”

Another fan joked that at his age, the hangovers hit harder, saying, “He’s dang near 30, that hangover got him in hell.” The sixth-year senior has been the butt of jokes this season for being 25 and still playing for the Bulldogs.

Stetson Bennett must’ve been enjoying his sendoff, and why not? He’s elevated Georgia to the apex of college football with an improbable story of walk-on to top dog. Keep the celebration going, champ.
