What a week for our beloved Baby Yoda.

First, on Tuesday, Disney finally dropped the epic first trailer for season two of The Mandalorian, which not only looks bigger and better than the first season (check out our full in-depth trailer breakdown) but Baby Yoda is somehow looking more adorable than ever. Just look at him (it?)!!!:

Then, this morning — ahead of Sunday night’s main Emmy Awards ceremony — it was announced that The Mandalorian had already won five of the 15 Emmy Awards that it’s nominated for, most notably Outstanding Special Visual Effects. The Disney+ original also racked in wins for Outstanding Sound Editing, Outstanding Sound Mixing, Outstanding Production Design, and Outstanding Cinematography.

WHICH MEANS, IPSO FACTO, BY THE TRANSITIVE PROPERTY, THAT BABY YODA IS AN EMMY WINNER (while Baby Yoda is largely made of practical effect, there is some CGI involved). AND YOU WILL CONGRATULATE HIM (IT?!) DAMMIT!

The Emmy Award coup for The Mandalorian may not end there, as the series received a nomination for Outstanding Drama Series, where it finds itself going toe-to-toe with television heavyweights such as Better Call Saul, Killing Eve, Ozark, Stranger Things, Succession, The Crown, and The Handmaid’s Tale.

Luckily for us, we’re only at the beginning of Baby Yoda season, as season two of The Mandalorian is set to hit Disey+ on Friday, October 30. As previously mentioned, season two is shaping up to be an even bigger spectacle than the first, as the Emmy-nominated series has not only shed the storytelling-weight of being a series in its rookie season, but has added iconic Star Wars characters such as Boba Fett (Temuera Morrison), Ahsoka Tano (Rosario Dawson), and Cobb Vanth (Timothy Olyphant) to the cast.
